Julia Busuttil Nishimura is a cook, author and teacher. Her work celebrates simple ingredients, seasonal produce and the joys of coming together at the table. Julia’s cooking is influenced by her Maltese upbringing and time spent living in Tuscany, where her love for the Italian kitchen blossomed. She is a columnist at Country Style Magazine, contributes regularly to The Design Files and has been featured in Delicious, Australian Gourmet Traveller and on ABC Radio, to name a few.


Julia’s debut cookbook, Ostro, released in 2017, was listed as one of Australian Gourmet Traveller’s ‘Best Food Books for 2017’ and short-listed for the 2018 ABIA ‘Illustrated Book of the Year’. Her second book is due for release in 2020. Julia lives in Melbourne with her husband, Nori and son, Haruki.
